The Calhoun County Chapter of the American Red Cross is a member of the Michigan Committee for Severe Weather Awareness. The governor of Michigan formed this committee in 1991. Our mission is to provide information and advice that keeps Michigan residents prepared when severe weather strikes.

Membership is open to all persons who desire to promote education and public awareness relating to severe weather preparedness and safety. This includes individuals, elected officials, federal, state, and local employees, engineers, planners, and consultants.
