Disaster Relief Elsewhere in the United States
Trained volunteers from the Calhoun County Chapter are regularly called upon to provide disaster relief services throughout the country. In recent years, they have traveled to many states, including New York, Washington D.C., Indiana, Florida, Texas, Ohio, Mississippi, and Louisiana. These disaster workers provide the full range of relief services to victims of tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, floods and other disasters. Meanwhile, here at home, other Red Cross workers help local people communicate with family members who live in the areas affected by these national disasters.
