| On December 13, American Red Cross volunteers were placed at every Pizza Hut location throughout Calhoun & Branch Counties in order to accept donations for the National Day of Giving. The National Day of Giving, established by National Red Cross is a grassroots effort to help raise the additional funds needed to meet our $100 million goal for the depleted national disaster relief fund. For every person donating $5.00 or more, Pizza Hut generously donated a coupon for a Free Order of Breadsticks to them.
The Red Cross would like to thank all of the participating Pizza Hut Stores in Battle Creek, Albion, Marshall, Coldwater and Urbandale, the donors and volunteers who made this event possible. Collectively, $842.49 was raised. In addition, 66 coupons were distributed for a Free Order of Breadsticks. The donations accepted will allow the Red Cross to provide shelter, food and blood to communities affected by disasters. The Red Cross provides emergency assistance to persons suffering from disaster 24/7/365.
When you donate to the Red Cross, whether through a monetary donation, by giving blood or volunteering your time, you become part of a network of millions of Americans who support the humanitarian work of the Red Cross. The lifesaving work of the Calhoun/Branch County Chapter American Red Cross is made possible only through our talented volunteers who collectively, donate more than 34,000 hours each year.
