Masters of Disaster

"Teaching Safety to Children"

Masters of Disaster teaches elementary, middle and junior high school students the skills and knowledge they need to prepare for, recognize, and recover from hazards and disasters in their home, school, or community. The program is designed for three specific age groups; K-2, 3-5, and 6-8. Each module includes age-appropriate lessons.

Kids learn how to prevent injuries at home and how to stay safe in the event of a disaster, including floods, tornados, lightening, home fires, or winter storms. The following are available for each class:

  • Exciting videos showcasing how and why disasters occur
  • Hands–on activities
  • Certificates for those completing the class
  • Take home disaster coloring book
House Fire Graphic
Classes are also available on site for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Campfire Girls, group classes, church groups, and day care, etc. Call the American Red Cross Calhoun County Chapter at 269.962.7528, X226 Sonia Elinchev AmeriCorps Member, to register.
